Together Through Trials

Communication for teenagers is not just an important part of life but a critical element of their development. During this period, their personality, self-perception, social skills, and sense of belonging to a community are formed. According to the leaders of the School Without Walls, this is the best time to pass on Christian values, shape a biblical worldview, and create a space where they feel accepted, supported, and can find emotional renewal.

On Sunday evening, teenagers from the Reimer Center had a special themed meeting: I Am Not the Center of the Universe! They had time for communication, active games, creative tasks, and Bible study. In a relaxed atmosphere, the teens discussed the importance of putting Christ first in their lives. Under the leadership of Dmytro, a youth leader from another church, they compared the attitudes toward God of biblical figures such as Saul and David. The teenagers looked for answers in the Bible to questions such as: Who were these people? How did they become who they were? Did they experience failures, and how did they react to them? What or who did they live for?

This is not so easy, but it’s interesting! said 13-year-old Sophia, who is always eager to explore new Bible stories. Later, the teens were encouraged to analyze what place they give to God in their own lives. These are the questions a young person must ask if they decide to follow Christ.

Besides the spiritual part, there was a lot of laughter, sincere communication, and games. The boys and girls were very open and friendly, eagerly getting to know new people, like Taya and Milana. The teenagers also shared various ideas for improving the Reimer Center and presented them creatively.

This meeting was especially anticipated by Maria and Sophia. They had met the Reimer Center teens at a fall camp, but for various reasons, they had not been able to see their friends again. So this was their first meeting in a long time, and they spent the entire evening talking to everyone they had missed so much.

I’m so happy to finally be here! I missed everyone so much! Maria admitted.
I wish we could meet more often, added Sophia.

Especially in times of war or crisis, communication becomes even more important—it gives teenagers the opportunity to discuss their fears, dream about the future, and feel that they are not alone. That’s why initiatives like teen meetings and clubs have a huge impact on their mental health and spiritual well-being.

At the Reimer Center, this need for communication can be an excellent foundation for building an environment where teenagers feel heard, valued, and accepted. The Center’s leaders emphasize that each meeting is an opportunity to help teenagers not only escape daily worries but also strengthen their faith.

We want them to know: they are loved, they are cared for, and that God is always near—even in the darkest moments of life.

In the future, they may become those who serve and care for others, just as they were cared for.
