The Light Within: A Story of a Boy Who Sees Deeper

In the cozy space of Reimer Center, among children’s laughter, lively games, and heartfelt conversations, there is a boy whose name is well known to all the leaders and participants — Vlad. He’s not just a guest anymore, but part of the club family. His smile, observant gaze, and active presence always draw attention. Vlad is one of those children who genuinely take part in everything around them. His curiosity, openness to new experiences, and desire to understand deeper things make him truly special.

Vlad loves stories — especially the ones that make you think and see beyond the surface. He regularly reads the children’s Bible. For him, it’s not just a religious book, but a source of fascinating plots, unexpected twists, and profound truths. Reading the Bible has become part of his journey of discovering the world, God, and himself. He is intrigued by how people acted long ago, how God responded to their choices, and what lessons he can draw for his own life.

One story that deeply impressed Vlad was the story of the Tower of Babel. This biblical episode was a true revelation for him. “God just changed the language — and everything stopped! They couldn’t understand each other anymore!” Vlad shares with amazement and wonder. He sees more than just a legendary tale — he sees divine wisdom: how one action can shift the course of history. The story led him to reflect on how pride and arrogance can prevent people from understanding each other — and how God has the power to set things right.

But above all, friendship means the most to Vlad. His best friend is Tymofii. They’re always together — arriving as a pair, sitting side by side, playing in teams, and encouraging each other. Their friendship isn’t just a habit; it’s something deeper. Vlad often says how important it is to have someone nearby — someone who will help, support, and not laugh at your failures but run to help you stand up. “When I fall during a game, Tymofii is always the first to come and help me up. I want to be that kind of friend too. If someone else falls — I want to be the one who supports them,” Vlad says with striking sincerity.

For him, the club isn’t just a place to play. It’s a space where he learns meaningful things: to listen, empathize, support, and grow together with others. Vlad says it was here that he first understood what it means to be part of a team. “When you play not alone but together,” he explains, “you learn to trust, to accept help, and to offer help. It’s completely different from winning on your own.”

The Reimer Center team deeply values children like Vlad. His open heart, interest in God’s Word, sincere friendships, and desire to grow — all of it inspires both adults and younger ones. In him, we see the beginning of something beautiful. Perhaps God is already shaping in him the heart of a true friend, a leader, and someone who knows how to see others — and offer a helping hand.

Because great things often start small. And in the heart of a boy named Vlad, a light is already shining — a light that others can see.
