The Day It Became Quieter

This day didn’t begin like usual. Instead of the familiar sounds of the city and тревога alerts, the children from Reimer Center got on a bus and went outside the city — to a place with more sky, more space, and a little more peace. They were going to a farm.

When the bus stopped, the first thing they noticed was the quiet. Not complete silence, but a different kind — one filled with birdsong, the rustling of grass, and the distant mooing of cows. For many of the children, this was something new. They looked at the large cows with curiosity, came closer, laughed, and even felt a little afraid.

The farm became a place of discovery. Some children touched a cow for the first time, others learned how they are fed, and some simply lay on the grass looking at the sky. In these simple moments, there was something special — something that brought back a sense of childhood, often lost among sirens and difficult news.

The children ran, played, and talked. For a few hours, they seemed to forget everything happening around them. And that mattered. Because sometimes rest is not a luxury — it is a necessity.

This day didn’t solve all problems. But it became a small pause. A moment when they could simply be children. And perhaps, it is days like this that help them stay strong.
