During the pre-Easter period, our Reimer Center turned into a true workshop of warmth and kindness. This year, we decided to prepare for Easter in a special way — by organizing a friendly baking event with children and teenagers to make aromatic cookies using a traditional Welsh recipe.
From the very beginning, a wonderful atmosphere filled the room. The children and teens actively joined in — rolling out dough, cutting shapes, and carefully placing the cookies on the skillet, as this recipe calls for stovetop baking instead of an oven. We chose a unique recipe — Welsh cakes, soft with a touch of sweetness, spices, and raisins. We didn’t just bake — we laughed, chatted, and shared moments that brought joy to everyone involved.
Most importantly, our goal was to do good. On Easter, we plan to give out the cookies to both children and adults — a small gesture of care, unity, and renewed hope.
Easter is not just about painted eggs — it’s about community, love, and new beginnings. And we’re grateful our center is a place where these values come to life.
