Another meeting of the School Without Walls took place at Reimer Center — a space where young people come together not only to learn, but also for deep reflection on faith, life, and their inner condition before God. It is a place where difficult questions can be asked, where one can be honest with oneself, and where silence is not something to fear.
This time, around 20 young people gathered, united by a shared desire to understand what true worship is and how it is expressed not only in words, but also in everyday decisions. The main theme of the meeting was worship of God and a humble heart. Together, participants discussed that worship is far more than music or singing songs. It is not just a moment in a hall or during a meeting, but a lifestyle — an inner state of a person and a willingness to trust God even when there is no sense of safety around.
The youth reflected on the idea that humility is not weakness, but an honest recognition of one’s need for God and the ability not to rely solely on one’s own strength. During the discussions, a thought resonated with many: it is impossible to worship God formally without allowing Him to touch the heart. True worship begins where a person is willing to change, to let go of control, and to trust even in pain, loss, and uncertainty.
For young people growing up in the reality of war, these reflections carry special depth and meaning. A special role in the meeting was played by the teacher Denis. He helped participants not only talk about worship, but also experience it in practice. Through shared singing, simple melodies, and sincere words, the youth learned to open their hearts before God without masks or fear.
It was a time when there was no need to rush, prove anything, or hide personal struggles. For many, it became a moment of inner silence — a pause amid the constant tension of wartime life. Despite the proximity of the front line, regular air raid alarms, and the constant sense of danger, the meeting took place in an atmosphere of peace, unity, and gratitude.
War tries daily to deprive people of joy, stability, and hope, but such meetings become points of support. Young people shared their thoughts, listened to one another, supported each other, and together found the strength to thank God for what they have today.
“Despite the closeness of the front line and other threats of war, we still learned to worship and thank God for everything we have today,” shared Serhii, one of the leaders of the School Without Walls.
These words became both a summary of the meeting and a reminder of the choice this youth makes every day — not to allow fear to define their hearts. This meeting once again showed that the School Without Walls is not about a format, a building, or a program. It is about people who, in difficult circumstances, choose to seek God sincerely and openly. Reimer Center continues to be a place where young people can grow spiritually, find meaning, support, and hope for tomorrow — even when there is so much uncertainty around.
