In a city that lives under the constant threat of war, young people not only do not lose hope but also learn to change their future. Recently, in one of the city’s safe spaces, namely Raymer Center, a meeting of young leaders took place. They had completed leadership training organized by the leaders of the School Without Walls.
Despite difficult conditions—regular shelling and psychological pressure—about 15 young people gathered to discuss how they can be influential leaders and change society for the better.
The training program included topics on team leadership and Biblical leadership.
“I really liked that there were several generations of leaders at the meeting—experienced people who have already walked a certain path and very young guys and girls who are just starting their journey. It is very inspiring to see how a new generation of leaders is being formed,” says Polina, one of the participants. “I also really liked that leadership was considered from both a professional and a spiritual perspective.”
At this meeting, two different teams gathered—some were already working on volunteer programs for internally displaced persons, while others were planning to open youth spaces in Zaporizhzhia. This meeting gave the teams a desire to unite for even greater impact on society.
“This meeting helped me realize that when different teams are united and on the same wavelength, it brings incredible results. But a leader must create an atmosphere of safety, joy, and adventure,” shares Dasha, another participant.
The young leaders of School Without Walls in Zaporizhzhia prove that despite the war, they do not lose faith in the future. They are ready to take responsibility for their city and create change today. And it is precisely this energy of youth that is the hope for Ukraine’s recovery after the war and for the development of the Kingdom of Heaven, which continues to be built even on the ruins.
