At Reimer Center, we hold special weekly meetings for teenagers dedicated to learning English. These aren’t just lessons—they’re a living space for growth, inspiration, and creativity. Our program is based on a modern approach: instead of dry grammar and boring textbooks, we offer emotional immersion in the language through music, communication, and teamwork.
Every week, teens gather to learn English by singing their favorite English-language songs. This approach makes it easier to memorize words and phrases, teaches natural intonation, and improves listening comprehension. Most importantly, it creates a positive emotional atmosphere, essential for effective learning. A song is the language of feelings, so the teenagers not only learn the lyrics—they experience them.
Over the past year, we’ve seen remarkable results. Many teens who were once shy about speaking English now actively participate in conversations, discussions, and presentations of their ideas. They’ve become more confident, active, and open. We don’t just teach the language—we help build personalities.
Our group teacher, Serhiy, plays a crucial role. For him, the most important thing is to create a real community where every teenager feels accepted, respected, trusted, and supported. Serhiy believes that in such an environment, students open up, stop fearing mistakes, and freely express their thoughts. He fosters a setting where every voice matters and every thought counts.
Our lessons include not only singing but also diverse game-based and interactive activities like quizzes, competitions, dialogues, and role-plays. These formats help students practice English in real-life contexts. We also incorporate media elements—videos, animations, and short films—to make lessons even more engaging.
The atmosphere in the group is warm and supportive. Kids encourage each other, laugh together over mistakes, learn to work as a team, and respect different viewpoints. All of this contributes to creating a healthy and friendly language-learning environment.
This summer, we plan to run our first English camp at Reimer Center. It will be a few days of intensive learning, creative workshops, active games, exciting challenges—and of course, plenty of English! Each day will have a theme—such as travel, music, ecology, or sports—to diversify vocabulary and broaden horizons. Children will play, create, discuss, sing, and above all, communicate in English.
We believe that this experience will have a lasting impact. When a child begins to love a language, they start using it not out of fear but out of joy—and that’s the best sign of success.
