Help That Brings Hope: The Humanitarian Initiative of MCC and Reimer Center in Zaporizhzhia.

In the city of Zaporizhzhia, which has long been a center of hope and support for thousands of internally displaced persons, an important humanitarian event took place. Within the walls of the Reimer Center, another distribution of hygiene kits was organized for those in greatest need. This event was made possible through the sincere and ongoing support of partners from MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) — an organization that has extended a helping hand to people in distress due to the war in Ukraine for many years.

Throughout the day, hundreds of people received basic hygiene items — soap, toothpaste, shampoo, wipes, disinfectants, and other necessary items. This may seem trivial to those with regular access to such supplies, but for many internally displaced persons, these are genuine luxuries and critically needed assistance.

During the event, the Reimer Center welcomed elderly individuals, young mothers with children, people with disabilities, and large families. They received not only hygiene kits but also warm words of support, opportunities to communicate, and the reassurance that they are not alone in their hardships.

Special thanks are extended to the volunteers and coordinators who organized this process clearly, harmoniously, and with compassion. People came not only for assistance but also for hope. And they received it.

It’s important to mention the significant venue where the distribution took place — the Reimer Center. Since the beginning of the war, it has become a hub of support, a place where help is provided not only through material goods but also through care. Various initiatives are regularly held here — from distributing humanitarian aid to providing psychological support and educational programs. Thanks to caring individuals, the Reimer Center has become a true symbol of solidarity, compassion, and unity.

Everyone who visited the center that day could see: even in the most challenging times, there are those ready to offer support. And this gives the strength to move forward.
